I Am

The world is a very stressful place right now. Despite it all, I'm full of love: love for myself, my community, my partner, my works, and the world.

Try as they may to make me feel unhappy with myself, or like I don't have value - I think I do.

Try as they may to make us feel like our words mean nothing and we don't belong - I think we do.

Try as they may to make us feel like we can't love each other from so far away and with my past - I think we do.

Try as they may to make me feel like these words hold no power and writing them makes no difference - I think they do.

Try as they may to make us believe there's no Light in the world and there's no hope - I think we do.

Times are rough and they will continue to be rough - but we can't forget who we are. Resistance is not just protests and rallies, but also in remaining true to the things we hold dear. It's finding Light in the darkness or lightning a candle when their is none.

One single Light cannot illuminate the darkness, but it's a start.
