The “surprise” daughter of my first dog, Molly, was Frisky. She got her name because she was born in the middle of a blizzard - but decided that she had to look at the pile of sticks in my aunt's yard. Not surprisingly, she got stuck and had to be rescued by my aunt.
My neurodivergent nerd self loved to read the thesaurus and “frisky” sounded like a fun name for a curious, playful puppy. Then I learned that it had a sexual connotation and not solely an innocent one.
She was the most timid dog I've met. Also, she was the second largest. She was only aware of the first fact.
She was the family dog, but bonded with my mom and brother the most. After I gave her basic obedience training, I trained her to help with my brother's anxiety. It was mostly just pressure therapy. Any time I knew he was anxious, I brought Molly & Frisky up to our bedrooms.
If my dad asked, it was all my idea - and he wasn't entirely wrong!
